prompt - Blaine is the best man at the wedding that Kurt is planning.

“You need a date,” Rachel Berry gritted out in annoyance, as she loomed over a man, who was, in reality, a bit taller than her. She was just so scary that the man looked two inches tall.

Kurt walked toward them, smiling. It was a week until Rachel’s wedding, which Kurt had planned perfectly, and she was starting to become a bridezilla.

Ahead of schedule, Kurt thought, as he walked up to the pair.

The man, who had been talking to the bride in a rushed whisper, stopped speaking when he saw Kurt over Rachel’s shoulder. His eyes widened a fraction, and his mouth went slack.

Rachel turned around, letting out a relieved sigh when she saw Kurt.

“Oh, thank God,” she said, walking over to him.

She engulfed him in a tight hug, as she muttered, “This wedding is a disaster.”

Kurt patted her back awkwardly, still not used to his customer’s touchiness.

“It’ll be all right,” he assured her calmly, when she pulled away.

Rachel grimaced, “The caterers ordered, like, a million flounder, when the menu specifically says salmon. The florists sent hot pink roses, rather than peach roses! And Jesse said that the tailor messed up his suit, so he has to start all over again! Do you know how long it takes to make a custom suit? Do you?”

Kurt rested his hands on her shoulders, as she started to hyperventilate.

“Calm down,” he commanded, staring into her eyes. “We can fix this.”

Rachel took a few deep breaths and then nodded. When Kurt dropped his hands, Rachel was back to being the ever - lively bride.

“Oh. I almost forgot!” she said, turning to the man she’d been yelling at, only minutes before. “Blaine, this is Kurt, the wedding planner. Kurt, this is Blaine, my man of honor.”

Both mens’ eyes met for a split second, and they smiled shyly at one another, before Blaine reached out a hand, taking Kurt’s. They shook slowly, relishing in the slow surging electricity going through their veins.

“Hello,” Kurt murmured.

“Hi,” Blaine responded.

After nearly a minute of shaking hands, they dropped their hands, stepping away awkwardly. Rachel eyed them each knowingly, before she turned to Blaine.

“Go get Jesse,” she stated. “We have dinner reservations in an hour.”

Blaine nodded, glancing at Kurt once more, before he left the room.

Once he was gone, Rachel turned to Kurt.

“He’s gay,” she blurted out, grinning.

Kurt’s eyes widened.

“I…what?” he sputtered.

The bride just rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.

“I’m not blind,” she stated, before changing the subject. “Now, tell me how you’re going to fix this color scheme with those hideous flowers on route here.”

Kurt blinked, before he nodded quickly, reaching into his messenger bag for some color swatches. While he flipped through a binder and took out a pencil, Rachel eyed him thoughtfully.

“You should come to dinner,” she stated.

Kurt looked up at her, raising a curious eyebrow.

“It’ll be fun,” she said. “Just me, my fiance, Jesse…Blaine.”

Kurt’s cheeks colored dark pink, but he said nothing, as he looked back down at his binder, trying to hide the smile on his face.

Rachel just smirked.

Maybe, Blaine would have a date to her wedding after all.
