Darren is getting suspicious.
A/N: alright, guys. i get it. you wanted a sequel.
Chris was standing in front of the bathroom mirror, his soaked towel on the floor, at his feet. He was turning from side to side, pinching his skin.
Darren walked into the room, then, smiling in adoration at the other man. He cleared his throat and watched Chris’ mad dash for his towel. Chris threw it around himself, blocking Darren’s view of his body.
“Hey,” he pouted, stepping into the steamy room. “I was looking at that.”
Chris blushed darkly, a grimace on his face, as he looked down at his feet.
“You could’ve knocked,” he said softly, and Darren’s brow furrowed.
“But I’ve already seen you naked,” he replied, confused.
Chris shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot.
“That’s bad enough as is,” Chris mumbled, and Darren didn’t quite catch that.
“What did you say?” he asked, walking over to Chris and wrapped his arms around the man’s tiny waist.
That’s weird, he thought to himself. Does he feel smaller than usual?
Chris leaned into him, sighing, “I look awful when I get out of the shower. Like, god. My hair.”
Darren just chuckled, shaking his head.
He kissed Chris’ forehead, murmuring, “I think your hair looks nice.”
In response, Chris snorted. Then, he pushed Darren lightly, his palm on the man’s chest.
“Now, let me change,” he commanded, fully pulling away.
Darren sighed, a small smile on his face.
“Okay,” he took a step back, turning away. “Breakfast is almost ready, so hurry up.”
“Alright,” Chris replied, his voice sounding strange.
Darren stared at him for another moment, and then he left, sparing one last glance over his shoulder at Chris, who watched him leaving, his towel held up to his armpits.
When Chris finally came downstairs, Darren was already finished his meal, and it was almost time to leave for shooting.
“What took so long?” he questioned Chris, who opened the fridge and pulled out a bottle of water.
Chris looked over at Darren, his eyebrow raised in confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“You missed breakfast,” Darren stated, gesturing to Chris’ still-full plate of eggs, bacon, and toast.
The man’s grimace didn’t go unnoticed by Darren.
“Is it my cooking?” he blurted out, and Chris looked over at him with wide eyes.
“Yes,” Chris replied instantly, and he looked guilty. “I’m sorry.”
Darren let out a sigh and nodded.
“It’s okay,” he said, picking up the plate and dumped the contents in the trash.
He put the plate in the sink, and, then, together, they left.
Later that night, after they’d had dinner - take out - Chris had excused himself to the bathroom. He’d been gone for twenty minutes, when Darren started getting suspicious.
It’d been eating at him ever since this morning.
Since when was Chris shy about his body?
A while, Darren’s brain supplied.
In fact, the first time they’d had sex, Chris had looked like he was in pain as Darren had undressed him.
“What’s wrong?” Darren had asked, after he had thrown Chris’ jeans off of the bed. “Did I do something wrong?”
“No. No,” Chris had shaken his head quickly, eyes soft. He’d cupped Darren’s face, pulling him into a sweet kiss.
When he had pulled away, he’d forced out a laugh.
“I just…I just…” Chris had sighed. “I’m sorry for looking horrible naked.”
It had been Darren’s turn to laugh, and he didn’t have to force it.
Chris had looked wounded, and Darren had rushed to assure him.
“You’re hot,” Darren had stated. “Beautiful, even. I love your body.”
The other man had just looked up at him, and unreadable expression in his eyes.
And Darren could’ve sworn that Chris loved his cooking.
He had even said so himself, when they were on their third or fourth date. Darren had decided to cook for Chris, a recipe his mother had brought with her from the Philippines.
“This is delicious!” Chris had stated, after his first bite of the food.
Darren had grinned.
“You really think so?”
And Chris had nodded, a genuine smile on his face.
Darren knew he was forgetting something about that dinner, and then it came back to him.
After the meal, Chris had gotten this guilty look on his face.
“I shouldn’t have eaten all of that,” he had said, rubbing his perfectly flat stomach.
Darren had just shrugged, “One meal won’t hurt you.”
He had smiled at Chris and stood.
“Do you think you could be ready for dessert?”
Chris had grimaced.
“I’m full,” he had replied, looking around thoughtfully. “Do you have a bathroom?”
Darren had nodded and directed him that way.
He’d scooped some ice cream for himself and waited on the couch for the other man, who had taken almost half an hour to return.
When he had, he was walking a little bit funny, but Darren hadn’t commented, only scooting over on the couch to provide room for Chris.
“You didn’t have to move,” Chris had muttered, trying to make his voice sound light. “I’m not that fat.”
Darren’s heart pounded in his chest.
Chris had also been adamant about sticking to his “diets”.
“Is that all you’re going to eat?” Darren had asked, looking at the salad in front of Chris.
It was all letuce, with a few tomatoes. There wasn’t any dressing or cheese or any fixings, really.
Chris had shrugged, nonchalantly replying, “Part of the diet.”
“You’re on another one?” Darren has asked, his brow furrowed.
“Yeah,” Chris had nodded, not meeting Darren’s eyes.
And, some times, Chris wouldn’t eat at all.
“I already ate,” he would say, and Darren would eye him skeptically.
“Before I came home,” Chris would reply instantly, shrugging.
Darren had thought about how bony Chris felt, when he was holding him in his arms.
Once, he had leaned down to kiss the fleshy part of Chris’ collarbone, only to find that there really wasn’t one. There was just the protruding bone there, glaring up at Darren.
“Is something wrong?” Chris had asked, looking up at Darren in confusion.
He had pulled away all of a sudden, when they were in the middle of “waking each other up.”
“Uh…yeah,” Darren had nodded, eyeing the bone for a moment. “Just a little groggy.”
He had forced out a laugh, and Chris had shrugged, flipping them over, so he was on top.
Darren had thought that Chris weighed nothing.
And, some times, Darren would walk in on Chris, who would be standing in front of the floor length mirror. He would be pinching himself, and Darren would knock on the door, pretending he hadn’t noticed.
“What are you up to?” Darren had asked once, and Chris had turned to him, smiling.
“Nothing,” he had shrugged, walking into the closet.
He had returned a few minutes later, wearing a pair of sweatpants that looked three sizes too big and a t-shirt that looked like a dress on the man.
Darren had smiled, saying nothing.
How could he have missed this?
It was just so big, and…
Darren was pulled out of his thoughts, as Chris walked into the room, wobbling a bit.
He smiled at Darren, who was looking him over.
He’s so thin, Darren thought to himself, and tears sprung to his eyes, which moved up to meet Chris’.
The man looked fearful.
Darren gulped, staring at a wet spot on Chris’ t-shirt.
“You missed a spot,” he croaked, as a few tears slipped from his eyes.
Chris looked down at his shirt, and his blood ran cold.
